SERIES 8

For series 8 Portrait Youth collaborated with North East Young Dads and Lads (NEYDL), in partnership with Dr Laura Way and the Following Young Fathers project.

 

A ‘wear your identity’ workshop with NEYDL at their headquarters in Gateshead encouraged participants to reflect on their everyday dress, as a conduit to conversations about identity and fatherhood.  

 

The portraits were captured by photographer Adam Johnson, a proud father himself and former NEYDL beneficiary.

 

The portraits are on display at The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art from 20th November 2024 - 1st June 2025.
